Hi guys
Has anyone here had any experience with solid fuel wing tip smoke systems, I have just got hold of some smoke pellets and the smoke output is good albeit a little short, however intial tests were with a tiny pellet, duration was about 10 seconds, so I`m planning on squashing a load in, but I dont know what is the best way of igniting them, on the ground I sprayed it with cool power and chucked a match on it, but this may not be ideal for practical use, I was thinking along the lines of a hot coil?

Hi Mike.
How about poring gas or somthing over them, and then put a long fuse in and the you can take a glowplug and hook it up to a 1,2 volt battery in the fuselage and put a microswitch between the battery and the glowplug and the connect a servo to the switch and the you can tun on the glowplug in the air and the the glowplug lite the fuse.

Hi
The thought has crossed my mind, but I`m trying to avoid the idea of burning fuel on my wing tips. I`m hoping to try and generate enough heat without producing a naked flame. but covering them in fuel has proven to be the most successful so far!!!
