Im sure this question has been asked many times, I did do a search and couln't find all to my specifics. Could ya help me out here or direct me to another similar thread?
I am wondering what plane would be great for mild 3D/IMAC
Non specific 1st:
Edge or Extra? What are each planes general flying characteristics? Which is better at what?
Specific type:
29% Aeroworks Edge 540?
27% WM Extra 300S?
Thanks for your help
I have a 25% Extra now that is Glow and I am looking to go gas

I would try a Colombo Anderson 27% Extra 300L, this plane is coming in at I believe 13lbs R-T-F with a ZDZ 50. I have heard from a friend (Wayne) that these planes fly unbelievable! For instance, theres a guy that has a 40% Carden Edge, he sold it because he liked his 38% CA Extra.
These are suppose to be extremely aerobatic, just as much as the edge, and the precision of a extra.
you can buy them at www.RCSuperstore.com

Please,
Before you tell me what other planes are better or preform differently, could anyone give me the info that I asked? Once I figure that much out I will go from there.
Thanks
Flyfalcons,

From what I have heard, Edge is generally more 3D, less Imac, and Extra's are generally a good balance of the two.
I can second shortmans recomendations. I visited the factory last winter, and I was very impressed with what I saw.

From the two planes you mentioned the Aeroworks 29% is head and sholders above the World Models Extra in flight performance. In fact, in this size The Aeroworks is what everything else is compaired to. The World models however will be in the air flying at several hundred less than the Aeroworks.
I too have read here that Wayne Geffon who is an excellent pilot who has flown both the 27% CA and the 29% AW has stated that the 27% CA (A Lot cheeper than the AW) flies as good as the Aeoworks. That is a pretty strong recomendation because the concensus seems to be that if you have the money and time to build there is none better than the 29% AW.

well,
The reason I am only looking at the 2 above planes is they are already built and for sale. I was just wondering which one would be the best out of the two there. The WM Extra is more money than the edge at the moment, but may go down from no buyers. The Edge is 200 dollars cheaper now.

The Edge!
The Extra is a really nice plane, but won't fly as well as the Edge for what you want. At least when it comes to 3D, the Edge has a big advantage!
I do think the Extra is a better looking airplane, but not enough to be a deciding factor!
That's just me though...
