Default RE: Engine For TOPCAP

I had an MVVS 49 that was strong, but would not transition cleanly until I put the MVVS 40 carb on it. Sold it. Also had a YS 45, no pipe. It was STRONG but temperamental. Sold it. Am now running Irvine 53's. I am very happy with them. Good luck.
The newest blue head 49s come with the same (8mm?) carb as the 61-77-91 engines and also has a tapered low speed need valve, which transitions very clean for a 2C with pipe. If you buy a new one, you won't have to mess with the carb. I recently put one on my Topcap ARF and it's phenomonal! The engine spins an APC 12x4 prop 15,000 rpm (about 200-300 shy of peak) and absolutely rockets out of a hover.
