Like many others I like the look of the Capiche 50 and the plan is offered in the May 2003 RCM&E. There is a note to the effect that the plan is to be used in conjunction with the CNC wood pack. Can I build it without the CNC pack? Can I buy a proper plan?

I have a copy of the plan (pre-production) and i could build it from the plan, but ive been modeling for 25 years+ and i own a good bandsaw and a fret saw, but given the choice i would opt for the CNC pack, i have had one in my hands and believe me it is worth every penny. it is a work of art.

I'll 2nd that!! The fuz is an amazing bit of kit.
I'd pretty much finished it before I even glued anything.

The proper plan you seek is the very same plan available - they dont come much more proper than that.
The Boy is right.... using the plan it can be done by hand...... but you must askyourself if it is worth the bother - it is unlikely that you will get everything reproduced perfectly for a nice straight build.
For more info on the cnc pack, including images in the gallery, and prices and all that stuff go to www.flycapiche.co.uk
Subscribe to the newsletter through the contact form too for new information - the next one is out soon.
Previous ones are in the archive available to download.
Note, if you had a panic at the canopy and cowl prices inthe magazine then dont stress weve sorted that out with Nexus. Canpoy and Cowl in plastic are now 6.25 each.

Thanks for the input, I will order the plan, cowl and canopy.
I'm not sure about the CNC pack. I usually like to choose and cut
my own wood and it appears that the CNC packs are not available until after the Sandown show but no date is given.
George.

The cnc packs are available AT the Sandown Show.....
If there are any left they will be available soon after from Island Hobbies, or until the second production run is complete....
You can reserve one to collect at Sandown through the site (Orders) or be added to the post show list for one by mail, when you will be contacted via your email when its available.
I assure you the wood selection is good. If you do go down the road of cutting it all out yourself then I firstly wish you the very best of luck, and would love to hear about how it went together..
regards
