What is the difference between "FreeStyle" and "3D"? I know that 3D is the manovers that are done with the wing in a simi stalled or stalled condition (elevator, harrier, hover, and water fall type moves) but, what is freestyle? Please help, thanks.

I generally think of it as a routine with a combination of 3D and other maneuvers.
Like, takeoff into a rolling circle, stop inverted, 1/2 outside loop, elevator, to a TR. That woiuld be a combination of 3D and non 3D maneuvers.

Would Freestyle be something like Ballroom dancing, well-thought maneuvers, and executed with grace.
3D more like disco dancing? No fix sequence.

3D routines and lets say an IMAC routine combied could be a freestyle routine.
TOC freestyle routines generally are well thought out and planned far in advance to include both types.

I have a Prop Wash video called "Ballet In the Sky" (excellent) which is a collection of TOC flyers doing freestyle routines. It appears that they do the routines in synch with a piece of music much like gymnast do. Some of the songs really add to the beauty of the maneuvers. Good chill factor!
