The 70 and the 80 cc were two of the original sizes of 3W engines. The 70 became the 78 and finally the 85cc. The 80 became the 100 and currently the 106. The common part is the crankcase of these engines. Very nice engines. I have a manual for the 80 if you need a copy. I doubt if it is a lot different than the 70 other than needing a slightly different prop. You could contact Aircraft International for additional information.

Default 3w 70cc twin

Finally someone owns a 70 twin. Got mine last month. Been a bugger to start as the carb is so low down. Once its primed properly it runs great!! Had a problem that the ignition is not that great, it won't spark when the prop is turned over slowly. Also had to change the plugs to some new ones.

Does yours have the same problem with the ignition??

Regards

Andy

The problem you are experencing is a saftey feature of 3w engines
the controll will not fire the plugs if it dosent see at least 60rpm from the trigger on the front hub
this prevents the eng. from starting if the prop is slowly turned over. hope this helps
