Two battery's??

Hey all i have a GP 330s that is going to have a DL50. 

I have 6 985Hitec servos and one standard servo for throttle. The Ignition will have its own switch and 4.8 battery. I have been advised that i need have two battery's for the radio, do i need that and if i should can they be run through one MPI switch with a y connector? This is my first 50cc plane and any help would be great!!

I ran mine independent of each other. I have three heavy duty switchs on my plane. Two on the left side of the plane for the reciever, and one on the right side for the ignition. If you use a Y connector it might pull the other battery down if the other fails.

I just pulled my LiPolys out today to check them before installation in one of my planes. These were brand new units never used. I have had them for about 5 months and checked their voltage every three weeks per the manufacturer. Last test was 2 weeks ago. All was well. Then today both units were dead and I mean no voltage at all!!! This is very very strange?? both units dead as hell and never have been used???? Manufacturer was notified.they will replace both units with newer and safer Li-Man units at no cost.
The point is battries can go bad at any time so make sure you check before EACH flight not just before a day of flying. Use a good quailty load tester.... the don't cost much. But they can save your plane.

Happens more than most would like to admit.

I usualy crash my planes before the batterys fail, but I have seen many people loose planes bacause of a faulty switch. The switch get corrosion or rust and the receiver losses power.



If a switch or battery fail, you have a chance of saving the plane.
