I was watchin E.F.'s site real close . I was gana get one of these until I found out , with my low level of experience , a Mojo 40 would be a better way to go . More forgiving on Dork's .

E.F. had them in stock for one week . I heard January is the next shipment . But we all know how that goes . DARN CHINESE [sm=lol.gif] . I did manage to get one of the $100 Extra's . That's 100 Bones , SHIPPED .[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

I saw the Billy Hell version fly last weekend . He got it from this last batch . Had a .55 AX on it and that was plenty . It was really pitchy and it looked like it could be thrown around real easily. Fun to watch .

Anyone know where I can find one(or two) of these? Looks like E.F. is out of stock.

STG,

I have one NIB, the Russian scheme. It's never even been opened....still in the double-wall outer shipping box exactly the way I received it. Given the time of the year, I could really use the funds for other things (darn kids!). If you want it, you can have it for exactly what I paid, $173.94 shipped. I'll replace it when the next batch comes in.....whenever that might be.

Dang they are out of stock again! I am sure happy I got mine this time around. Still working on getting it together. I am a bit of a slow builder due to a lack of time (kids). I will say that I am very impressed by the buld quality and some of the smaller details that are standard. I love the epoxyed in control arms since i have alwasy hated drilling out those small holes. Also I love the ball link hardware! Nice!!! I got a fairly new 55Ax waiting for a home. Should have it done in the next week or so.

Everyone I see runs either 821's , HS-475's , or 3010's in there profiles . I'm putting 2 s3151's on the wing and 2 s3050's in the tail with a HS-85mg on the throttle in my MOJO .

so something with around 60ozs is good then? the 225's are 66 at 6v, do they not fit in the slot correctly cause they are smaller case? i just liked those cause they were fast and worked well in my electric plane i had

I don't have the chinn yak but saw it in action with standard digitals , and a OS .55ax . It had power up the wasu . I have been looking at the 58" extra 300 and the 3DHS 57" Sukhoi to give my Saito 82 a home . I was suprised they use the 225's all the way around . They do however give option of larger servo on the rudder . I can't personally say if they will hold up or not on a nitro . I just know I have never saw them on a .40 size profile .

I know I read some stuff that talked about small servos with high torque capabilities compared to a standard servo with the same torque not being equal to one another . It has to do with all the same stress being on smaller gears and motor . I was told by more experienced friends to use metal gear on the throttle if I use a mini or micro on there .

I used HS-635HB's on my chinn yak with HS225MG for the throttle. No problems with servos so far with many flights on it.

k, on my 58" extra i used 225mg on stab and wings, but a 5625 on rudder, thats what i was kinda thinking for the yak too, but maybe the 225's arent good for the long run? ive never had issues with them but dont want to start too either, id imagine they are fine on torque for the application, maybe at least the wings, they are lighter too which sounded good cause some of you say its tail heavy, so i tad less weight in the back would be nice i suppose, if they were used for tail, i plan on a saito 82 also

the 225's would be nice in the tail,it would help the already little tail heavy plane.but i have read that the gears in the smaller servos won't hold up when it comes to tail draggin and tail touches. i have a YS63 and 475's all around and it flies great as is and the CG is rite in line with the servo shaft or 6" from leading edge.

I still have the standard servos in mine right now and it flies great. I am running a 6v system and they haul the control services around pretty good but sure do lack the precision of digitals. Especially in the tail is where I notice the stadards not always centering like they should. I had to choose between upgrading to 2.4g or digitals so the servos will have to wait a little longer.

if i went with 225's should i get something different for rudder? like a 625, or is that way overkill and too much weight back there, im not a fan of the karbonite final gear(475), i know some use that internally like my 5985's in my big plane, i suppose i can try the 225s and see how much i beat them up touching the tail, they are metal gear so they should hold up somewhat well i would think, my thought was to use them on everything from throttle back to rudder, unless a standard size is better for throttle to add nose weight

I have found that the 225's are not very good in profiles. I have repeatedly tried hoping to save weight and ended up with bad servos. Striped gears mostly on the nylon gear servos, or failure from the vibration within a year. All of my profiles have 4-strokes and I have went through at least 8 225's. Hitec always fixes them but they fail anyway. I finally went to only using them on the throttle and now I have a bad throttle servo on my Sabre. Keep the 225's on the electric planes.

Yes, I have another one that went bad the last time out on the Sabre-40 throttle. The 225-mg gears are fine but the pot or motor is shot. These do not tolerate high vibrations very well. It was not much fun flying around on full throttle with a Satio .82. I would not recommend a 225 MG on 40 size 4 stroke glow powered profile.

k, thanks, i would have thought it would be okay, i think i used a 225mg on a throttle on one of my gas planes once and it worked fine until i got ird of the plane, but maybe i wont chance it here for all the surfaces, i will look at some others, i like hiteck, but not the karbonite ones
