Got a phenix extra 330s, 60-91 size w/super tigre 75 on it w/stock muffler and 13x6 prop. Does anybody have this plane and got it set up properly? The book said c.g. is at 120mm to start with but can be plus or minus 10mm, i have flown it and had to give a touch of neg trim to fly level, does any body know what is the best c.g. point on this plane? and do you need all the throw that the book say's to fly 3-d, they are asking 70mm on all throws. Any sugestions please!
Thanks, Jay

There is a huge thread on this plane, search the 3D section, tons of people have this plane, I'm sure they can help you, I am building one, but I haven't finished it.

Keep moving the CG back until the planes does not dive or climb during a 45 degree inverted upline. Fly straight, pull up to 45 degree climb and roll inverted. Plane should track striaght on previous path. If it dives, add more tail weight, trim and try again. I had mine flying real nice when the CG was 6mm behind the recommended CG.
If the tail drops and the plane stalls when you are landing then you may be too tail heavy. Make changes slowly so that you don't get yourself way out of wack.
"i have flown it and had to give a touch of neg trim to fly level," This is typically good. It should help the inverted flight and the knife edge.
Chuck is right, there is already a thread that is a few hundred comments long at the 3D section.

I had the same set-up (with a Tower Hobbies 75) and it was a little nose heavy at the recommended CG. I added 3-4 oz to the tail, and it was a spectacular flying airplane!! Sold it to move into larger planes, now I'm kicking myself!!

Thanks guy's, I will give it a shot and see what happens. This is my first time to venture into the 3-d world and have a lot to learn.
I noticed APC propeller has a 3-d prop in tower hobbies, whats the difference? I am running a APC sport 13x6 and going to try a master airscrew 13x6.

I used an APC 13x6 prop on mine with a TH 75. Never tried a 14x4W prop. The APC 14x4w prop is their 3d or "funfly" prop. Wide flat blade. You can typically go up one inch in prop size because of the lower pitch. You can try it, but those that have did not like it because the plane flew so slow. You may get a little better trust for hovering, but everything else will suffer. I use the low pitch props on my thick winged profile planes. Everything else uses a minimum of a six pitch.
