I just want to say that I enjoy the funflys and flyins at our local club field but I feel that when they limit the ability to fly 3D at these events to a miniscule time slot, it is not fair [sm=disappointed.gif] . I realize alot of the old timers despise my type of flying and consider it wreckless and without flying ability and let me tell you I've been told that several times.. I would tell them to go to a XFC event and watch the 3d planes and I bet they will see a crash or two because of the high degree of risk and difficulty in this type of flying. I'm so tired of the comments and backstabbing at our club field because a guy flying 3d crashes his plane.. [sm=48_48.gif] The fact that I don't care to do a 4 point roll does not mean that I am without ability . I don't accuse the other members of lack of flying ability because they can't do 3D.. I buy ,build and repair my own planes and even help other members build and repair thier planes. Just let me fly my way...........[sm=tongue_smile.gif]

Flex ... its simple, when the old foggies make any more comments tell them its not 'banned' by the AMA and the club insurance does not prohibit it so it may be done. Not to forget some of the world's famous and SPONSORED pilots do fly 3D and are well known for being able to do it.
ps you are an outcast ... you are out of the stiff necked cast!

Its OK to me for a club to raise the question about 3-D flying, but as long as you are obeying the club rules regarding safe flying, 3-D shouldn't be an issue. The biggy is no flying behind the flight line, as long as you demonstrate the ability to keep your plane in front of the line, there's not much to complain about except maybe "hogging" the runway by hovering for a long time. Our club has about 70 members and only 3 hardcore 3-d flyers(one is the president-club that is). It was brought up at one meeting but never went anywhere as us 3 always wait for open time to do our thing, actually, we prefer to fly alone, so we wait patiently for that time when we can hear our engines, and not have to watch out for anything other than our planes attitude. I've had to bail out of hovers on the deck when another plane zips by me going 100MPH and just misses me, I was at the extreme end of the field to stay out of the middle and still people "buzz" me. A small .40 glow at that speed is just as dangerous if control is lost, as a hovering 50cc gasser that looses control.

Heck, I can even walk an chew gum at the same time too....LOL
I'm sure they know what I meant. Besides, I'm the prez of our club and there are only 11 of us anyway. Other than one old guy that isn't here anymore, the rest of the old guys at our club enjoy watching me. We even host a Pro Bro every year now............

Thanks for the imput guys.
The majority of the guys at the field are great[sm=thumbs_up.gif], we just have a few that never have a problem while they are standing next to you at the field but can't wait to give the president a call and tell him their version of the days events[sm=47_47.gif].
I'm glad they put flags at 50 ft out from the flight line at our field so the distance is no longer a debate..[sm=confused.gif] I was gettig tired of hovering 200 ft out over the tall grass, it's hard to look thru binoculars and fly the plane at the same time LOL [sm=what_smile.gif]!!!.. OK I'm done crying..........[sm=cry_smile.gif]
have to work on my slab for this weekend.........

I know what you mean, we had a few guys like that, friends when they are watching you, behind your back its another story, all of "them" eventually leave the club as they are "exposed" for who they are. Keep on "huckin"!!! Oh , almost forgot, we had quite a few people here who formerly announced that 3-D sucks, half of them are now getting into it!!!!
