Default extra 260 from Abell RC

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this plane http://www.abellrc.com/abellrchome.html Will this plane have good 3d performance with the MLD 28. It doesnt have to be a 3D monster just the basic 3D stuff. Im looking at getting into gassers and dont have 2000 to spend on a plane. Also what would be good servos with this plane. They offer a combo with Hitec hs-625's but that seems a little weak. Also on a plane this size should I go digital or will analog be ok. I called Abell and they said they will be getting parts in stock so that shouldnt be a problem. Has anyone ever dealt with Abell RC and how is their service. The website goes to the homepage the plane I am looking at is the 25% Extra 260 yellow with 70" wingspan. Im looking at putting hitec 5645MG on it probably Im sure that would be plenty.

The MLD 28 should be plenty,if the the 70 inch span Extra is a good match is another question. I would say not really, but 500 others would say "sure" I just dont care for small gassers in 3D frames under 1100 squares and less than 74 inches.
Good aerobatics and 3D is ALL about wingloaing,NOT power

Can't speak for the plane itself, but Abell is a good shop to deal with locally anyway. They are in Billings, MT, about 100 miles from me, so I can pick stuff up myself. Not sure what shipping would be for ya, but they generally have a lot of good stuff on hand.

Just looked through the build thread. Very nice looking plane. Excellent color choices in my opinion; Very fresh! Are you able to specify the intended target price at this point?

It is a little early, waiting for all of the actual shipping costs and that sort of stuff but it will be in line with others like it.

Well best of luck releasing it! Keep us informed. Should it all come together well, could be a winner for the upcoming season(Well here on the east coast anyway).

PS- Thanks for carrying the Xoars! You guys are the only ones ive ordered them from without some sort of issue.

Clay, if you don't mind, how many squares on the wing? What does yours weigh with the CRRC? Keep us informed, I am looking for a plane for my MVVS 26 gas.

Thanks wyo69cowboy! the DLE 30 would work great! tons of power, the CRRC should be enough for 3d no problem but more power is more better

Thanks Clay, let us know on the weight and also how it flies. Lookin for feedback on harrier stuff (wing rock etc) and how well does it lock into a hover. How tight are the waterfalls, knife edge spins etc.

From the "specs" the squares to lbs looks OK but real world is everything. Thanks again and I am definitely interested. Oh yeh, PM a price when ya'll get it figured out or at least let me know the price is available on request.

I knew that one was coming! The covering is not Monokote or Ultracote, colors match Ultracote very well though. The covering on the plane in the build thread (same as the production line that is coming) has been expertly applied and can be worked with without any problems as long as you use low heat. I will say it again, low heat. The shipment that we are currently waiting on includes extra parts like cowls, canopies, wheel pants all pre painted and also covering as well as wings, stabs, fuselages....

You can count on that Jezmo, should have the details worked out very soon, one to two weeks.
