I would like some advice on a 3d/aerobatic plane. It must be full fuselage, no profiles. I would like to need know more than a Saito 125 to power it. I really like the 540 Edge, 260 and 330 Extras but am open to other planes. I am wanting a real head turner so no ugly planes.

Its a Yak,but it would fit the motor well, there is a few others to consider, but I am drawing a blank,so many have been taken off the market recently...

Here is your Extra, the 1.25 is probably enough, but not ballistic

I also got a feeling that there will be a flood of new cool planes in the next few weeks.

As it stands I am thinking about getting the Aeroworks Edge 540T .46-.61. I really like this plane but want to explore all options, any other planes compare with this one? I really don't want to go much bigger than this Aeroworks Edge.

Well, any of than are more capable of 3D than I am. I am using the term 3D to describe the type plane I am looking for more so than what I intend to do with the plane. I guess a "mild" 3D plane capable of pattern flying would be more accurate.

I good Friend of mine has the the Aeroworks Edge and it is a pretty sweet plane. I have flown it a few times and it is alot of fun. He is using a Saiton 100 to power it. I would alos reccomend the Great Planes Reactor. It is a good mix between a pattern and 3D plane. I have a Saito .82 in mine but a few guys are using .91's in them for even more power.

The AW Edge is too small to 3D with a 125.
You really would want to buy a plane with 950 sq inches and up.
I just bought a TLT aviation Sukhoi ($275 shipped),I bet it would fly real well on a 125.
I run a YS 140 in it,but its really not necessary.
If you are new to 3D it is important to fly a plane that will work with you,and let you advance.
Stuffing a big motor into a 60 size plane is not ideal.
3D is achieved by having a lightly loaded wing and airframe that is agile, and that has a motor with good pull and response.

Blazer1, I am in the same boat. Looking for a high quality 3D airframe for a Saito 125. There is just not too much to chose from right now. My research indicates that the QQ 69" Yak is about the best (read ONLY) quality option availible. But, I too want an Extra or Edge [:-]. Have you found anything/made a decision? Good luck & keep us posted!

Yes, I purchased a Fliton Extra 330 Freestyle. I received it yesterday and I am impressed. Check out the thread on it in this forum.
To sum it up;
Very good flier,... flies like a much larger 3D plane,... has poor hardware and assembly instructions, ...fragile,... difficult build but worth it.

Buy a Mojo. I have the 40 and the 60 sizes. See www.swanyshouse.com. You can use a 100 or 125 on the larger tailed version.

I purchased the Fliton Extra 330 freestyle I guess it is a 60 size? To say the least it is a challenging build!
Even after the hair pulling building experience I am still happy with my purchase, for some reason I love the look of this Extra. I even like the pink!!!!
