Default U Can Do What to Use

Just got my UCD. What hardware should I replace. The UCD post is too long to look through. I know everyone says to use 4-40 rods. Should I use the Dubro heavy duty control horn system or is that over kill? Are the control horns good enough? Also should I scrap the CA hinges and use the dubro plastic pin hinges? Thanks

OK, some quick comments.
On my UCD, I have changed ALL the hinges now to Dubro flat pinned hinges. It would be easier to do it from the start instead of cutting out the CA hinges after they break. If you are going to do violent manuevers, change the hinges out now.

I changed the rudder pushrod to 4-40 with metal clevis. Elevator pushrods are stock since they are short. No problems yet (approx 100 flights) Aileron pushrod: I used some thick CA and slid a piece of carbon fiber tube over the stock pushrod. Solid as can be now.
I used all the stock control horns with no problems to date.
I made my own tailwheel styled after the "Haigh" type units. This protects the rudder on Harrier landings.

I have the main tank at the CG and a 2 oz header tank at the firewall, Saito 100 with Perry oscillating pump. APC 16x4W prop.
Have fun!
