From: Ewa,
HI
I currently have a OS 46 AX in my OMP Edge 540 and want something with more power. I was going to get the OS 55AX but after seeing that Paul Swaney sells and uses Webra engines in his profile planes I figured I might find some info on these engines. So can anyone tell me if the Webra engines are any good and how the Webra 50 would compare to the OS 55AX, on paper the webra seems to have more power and is lighter.

Can't comment on the Webra since I have never owned one.
I did fly my Edge with the .55-AX though and it is an outstanding match up.
If I were to do another one though I'd power it with a YS-63.

Dont be fooled by the lower horsepower readings of the 4 stroke engines. The YS 63 and most .72 fourstrokes
are great for 3D for this plane. The powercurve is very ideal and different from 2 strokers.Lots of torque, straight from idle.

The Saito is a great engine but do you thing it will cause balance issues? A YS-63 is about a 1/4 pound lighter and makes insane power. With a good lightweight wooden prop, the throttle response & spool up are seemingly instant. It's a good match for a plane like this.
A Good 2-stroke like the .46-AX, .55-AX etc. would also be lighter.
