Finally the weather stabilized enough to pull up my new gem of an aircraft. It's such a beautiful model! Had it just flew the way it looks...
I have never seen such horrible flight caracteristics before! It wobbles, snaps and tip-stalles to both sides way faster than anyone can recover. Forget trying harriers, I couldn't even land the plane once! Out of three flights, two resulted in crash which one was near total. The fuse snapped just behind the canopy. Wings and tailseems fine, though...
It tracks well in high speeds, anddoes mostof theaerobatics, but when I dropped the speed to do some 3D, all bad things happened at once. And this was well above stall speed, actually just below 1/2 throttle!
Tried to move the CGto nose heavy and tail heavy, but I couldn't get rid of the snaps. CG left/right was perfect. I tried every trick I know of to make it fly, but gave up when I crashed.
Has someone any tip to make this "thing" fly better than a brick?
Setup:
-Engine: OS50SX / APC 12,25x3,75. It had just enough power to pull it vertically out of hover (I got one chance to try it out)
-Thrust: 1' right, and 1' down, straight tracking when applying full throttle, both inverted and wheels down. Didn't trackwell in KE with this setup.
-Throws: from small amount to max, even with a lot of exponential
-Trims: perfect
As you see, I didn't got much airtime to make a full test... What a waste of money...
