Good evnin mates,
im interested in doin some rolling hairiers and torqe rolls down on the deck with my 105" Cub.
im havin a verry hard time doin theis manuvers and Im thinking about clipin the wings doun a foot or so to get a better roll rate in me low rollin hairiers iv ben tryin.
The plane just seems slugish in a low rollin hairier,even with the CG 50% back from the leadin edge of the wing.
Im usin; DA100 with 26/10 prop
all Hitec Digitals
50% thow on all serfaces
50%pluss expo on all

Should i clip the wings down to get a faster roll rate?Could my setup be wrong?Are there any sugestions any one could make me on this topic?

My friend flies one with that exact setup - he has no problems whatsoever. Mabye you just need a little more stick time.

The Cub Jon is talking about is mine.

Both Jon and I have flown it and have actually have been able to pass the TX to eachother in a TR.

Just keep at it. you'll get there.

A shame you aren't as "good" at the English language.

Seems to me that:
1) A Cub wouldn't be such a hotshot's first choice for 3D flying.
2) If you are in fact that "good" then you'd already be able to make your Cub do these maneuvers.

I'd suggest clipping the wings down to one rib bay beyond the fuselage on either side. Then mount a second set of ailerons on the leading edges, linked to the ones you'll have to add back to the wing. You'll be amazed how your roll rate picks up.

yes sir,people are findin out ,with much practice the j3 piper cub can do 3D like inverted hairiers ,TR,hoverin figure 8s,all with the rigt set up.

Oh and is your real name Tavis or can you just not even spell Travis?

Sorry guys, But I do not think that is a Piper J3, It looks like one! I have a Goldberg J3 full wing. I have a 60 OS FS on it , it does tail slides, knife edge, And will hover for a short time(need more motor) It is about 14 years old and cant bring myself to re-powering it. I do believe that the right pilot could make a J3 do allot! It would still have problems with some maneuvers with that high wing and the flat bottom.
