I've noticed a scary tendancy On my DP extra: while in a power off dive and I apply below the recommend low rate travel to hard I have a fairly hard snap to the right(if I remember) However If I'm flying straight and level full power and apply full up elevator high rate (think wall)I don't get the high speed stall (just a little twisting from the tourqe) The straight level full power speed is very comparable to the dive speed.

Is there a way of stopping this short of decreasing elevator throw? I can get away with the full deflection if I slowly apply full elevator for about the first half of travel. It was quite scary the first time it happened and Im always afraid if it happening again. I tried moving the cg more foward and it didn't appear to help much at all.

The cg Was already a good distance back I'm trying to set it up for Imac flying not really 3d and a more rearward cg may make it more prone to snapping.

What prop are you running? I know that I have seen this with a prop that is too flat. It slows the plane down too much and stalls it at pull out. Try something with at least an 8 pitch.

I tried a 18x8 bambula but the performance was horrible I'm now running a 18x10 menz which gives me unlimited virtical.

How do you get unlimited vertical with a 18x10 but limited vertical with a 18x8?

Yes it snapped on pull out with the 18x10
As for the virtical performance
I was wondering the same thing, I have no clue I run 12% nitro in the moki and the only thing I can think is that its over revving or something. It may not have been tuned right but I took the tach to it on the ground.

But the performance spoke for itself the 18x8 fell over where the 18/10 kept going I might try again this weekend and try tuning a little more.

I have the ability yo take a video of the pull out + snap and I can upload it I also can take a video comparing the virtical performance of the 18x8 and the 18x10 I may try that if I can find a photographer than can go out there with me on thursday afternoon.

I guess the Menz is a lot better propeller than the Bambula.

I've never weighed it but it's the 3rd gen moki 1.80 menz, only 1 servo per surface and a mini on throttle so I't cant be to heavy. Like I said I have unlimited virtical

I tried a 18" bambula on mine today, not a good combo for mine, I lost vertical, but was snappy. Not worth it IMO.

Mine will snap on the down side of a loop or other downline if I am not careful. Not real violent, but enough to get my attention. That is about the only thing I don't like about this plane. I have a zdz 40 on it with a 22x8 prop. Weighs a little over 16lbs and it a touch tail heavy. You are not the only one!

When you're pulling out from a downline it is 1 extra G over pulling up from level. Check elevator throws, lateral balance. If it isn't either of those then check all incidences. Also, you can't compare doing a Wall to pulling out normally; the Wall happens so quick that you go deep into the stall before either tip has a chance to stall. Try pulling full up on low rates in level flight and see what happens. If it still snaps then decrease your elevator low rate.

I'll give that a try I'm still moving from 3d flight settings to imac settings so My throws are still probably to high in low rate.
