A previous member of the SCCMAS in Morgan Hill, CA in the 90's, Wayne Geffon dropped by the SCCMAS field in sunny California today (4/6) and got some stick time in on Joe Hunt's Cap. Here's some photos.

Last one...
Was good to see ya Wayne. I'm sure you'll miss the SCCMAS field again when you go home.

I wouldn't call it plush green grass... Our field is only grass in the infield and just around the runway. The rest is weeds, about 2 ft tall. It quit raining last week, so some things are green now. We are on county land and because of it, the gophers, squirrels and wild pigs have to stay. They are tearing up what grass that we have. And, it was only like 60 deg today. BTW we have a field phone too. Anyone can call and check live wind and temp (408) 776-0101. I kid you not too, but a webcam is coming soon too!

Anyone's welcome to stop by as a guest. Directions to the site are at www.sccmas.org

Here's a photo from Feb. The lawn wasn't as green then as it is now and you can see how it is being "eaten up".

Anytime, junior, anytime.

Wayne is a darn good pilot, Chris... he flew a couple of 12 minutes flights on the new super light Cappy. He didn't know the plane at all but looked rock solid putting it through a host of maneuvers... including some torque rolls. :-)

The new plane, the new radio, and the weather worked out great. Me and Wayne had a great time, but kept saying we wished you were there. :-)

Great pictures, Michael! Here's one Filip took right before Wayne had to leave (got a call from the wife that it was time to quit playing with the other kids and come home<g>).

Hey guys,

Thanks again for the awesome day out at SCCMAS today. Makes me miss the old flying field even more.

Joe,
I really appreciate the stick time on such an awesome (light) plane. I am amazed at how well it flew and its not even dialed in all the way yet. Not bad for the first day on it. You've got a winner there for sure.

For anyone who hasnt flown a H9 33% Cap (but has G2) it felt a lot like those planes on the sim that seem way too easy to 3D. The Harriers, TR's, Waterfalls, Pop Ups, Parachutes, Etc. are really, really solid on this thing. The DA-100 is (IMO) a perfect fit for this plane. I want this set-up bad!

Pug's:
Yeah I fly my stuff when I am home. But if I can play when I am at work why not.

Pugs is a guys in Atlanta who I have met a couple times on trips and has always made me feel at home when I am there.

To all you guys,
THANKS!

Just needed Chris540 to make it complete today....

Chris,

I already told myself that if I see one NIB I'm getting it. If you have the means, do yourself a favor and get one.

Mike McConville really knows his stuff... that's all I have to say. Oh, and Desert Aircraft, too. :-)

How is that cap at sequence work? I know you wouldn't know Joe... Maybe Wayne did some IMAC maneuvers with it?
