I have an Edge 540t that every time I try to hover it it snaps one wing around. I slow it down and point the nose up. The plane does about a 180 snap roll. I can't get it to keep it's nose up. the plane has good flight characterisics. A little up elevater inverted. Any ideas why this would do this?
Thanks</p>

Taking a guess based on my experience and what ive been taught by the giant scale/3D guys at my field... One - Is it very nose heavy? (fly inverted in a straigh line - how much elevator do you have to hold to keep it level?) Two - Are your throws too high? When positioning nose up are you in low or high rate? If in low rate - test rate by doing a loop at full elevator deflection, it should stay in the loop and not snap out. If it does - low rate is too high. If at high rate, trying lowering your rate a little; and/or adding more expo.
Personally I had a plane that did this. I resolved as above. But just my experience.
Also do you even have enough power to stay in the verticle position ( dont know if this is a valid question as per the symptoms - just throwing it out there). But I guess if you didnt, it would just fall out, wouldnt snap out.

I'AM ASUMING THE PLANE IN guestion is the new 60-90 size, and if your flying weight is above 6lbs. , there is not much you can do to correct this type of problem. I admit there are a few minor things such as mentioned but the main problem is weight. There are guys flying the same size elec. plane's that are less than 4lbs. and are great flying 3D planes.

Like Jerry said they are sensitive to weight. If I get my 60-90 A/W Extra 260 too heavy it does the same thing. I used to fly it with a .90 gasser but the extra weight hurt the flying so I put a glow back on to get the weight down and it really flies good now.
