Have to post these for my friend to look at..here they are!!!

Anybody can help. My linkage to the rudder will be at around a 35 degree angle down!!! I hear this is not good...Thanks

That is not the arm I will be using and it needs to be 1 inch above where it is sitting now. That paper is just to show where my servo goes!!! I will use a Hanger 9 Titanium Rod with ball links...let me know what you guys think.

I not sure I like the RX retaining system. It seems like it might easily work its way loose. Maybe add a Velcro strap around the RX and under the wood mounting deck passing between the existing holes.

Give us some additional model specific info, i.e., what model, engine and radio equipment is proposed.

Have you considered a pull-pull system?

How did you ascertain the rudder deflection would be 35 degrees?

My set-up

Engine: 3W 75i US (reccomended by JOSH!!!)

Radio: 10X

Receiver...you can see and I forgot to mention it does have velcro!!! Very SECURE BTW!!!

Servos: DS8231s in the ailerons (4)

Elevators: 2 JR4721s

Rudder: I have the DS8411, but I hear it is crap

Batteries: Ignition is a Duralite 1900maH
Two Duralites for Receiver

Let me know what you think now

OO I meant the rudder linkage would be at an angle around 25 now that I think about it...(the pushrod)

Sadly I have no experience with Pull Pull systems. I have though about it, but I find it easier to do the servo in the back!!! Also, Where do I make a slit for the wires to come out!

Thanks Mr. Glavin

RE: Aeroworks 31% EDge

I'd ask around of those with this model about the need for a pull-pull system. Some benefit from it others require the weight in the tail, engine specific and possibly battery specific weight concerns here for balance...

I'd prefer the pull system for 3D work. I like the push-pull hard link but believe its better to keep as much weight around the center of the model as possible and find that the servos hold up better to the normal daily abuse of shock and hangar rash...

Sounds like your suggesting the angle of the push-rod will see around 25-35 degrees to reach the rudder control arm, is the correct? I'd be surprised if this was an accurate assumption. Once the servo is in place it will sit above the fuse around a 1/2" to the top of the servo control arm. In most cases the the ruder control arm pivot connector will be at least 3/4" of the rudder sheeting. This presents no problem. Utilize a ball end at the servo arm and you'll be fine.

Locating the pull-pull wire exits is really pretty easy, IMO. Lets say you have a 3" double arm and 3" rudder control arm spacing, they should be the same dimension. Locate a spot on the fuse that is 3" wide. Make your slots around a 1/2" longer in front of and behind this mark. Of course you'll have to determine the correct height as well. Use the rudder control arm and double arms height to spot this location. There are other methods if this does not make sense.

Is a single standard size rudder servo recommended for this model?

There is nothing wrong wit JR 8411 servo. These are top notch servos. There has been some problems with them same as the rest...

Most guys use the 8411s and I was told to use the 8231s on the aileroins because they came with my 10X and why not use them...They reccomend 70 oz/in. minimum...I will go pull pull!!! Someone can help me here!

Thanks a ton man

Set up on mine: Engine: ZDZ 60 (had the ZDZ80 on it first but I had to use it on my other model)
Servos: Aileron- DS8411 ( just one for each)
Elevator: HS5925
Rudder: HS5375 on pull-pull
(2) 1650NiMh 5v for receiver and 1700 4.8v for ignition (all 3 are strapped outside the engine box)

I built up the plate for the landing gear. There is a post here of how to do it. Just do a search on it.

Is the landing gear weak on the 31% Edge? I have heard firewall is weak as well. What about overall quality in general on this airplane??

My fireall has 8 carbon fiber rods going through it. Its very secure. Never flew mine yet but did reinforce the landing gear area. See ya lata
