MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
OK, I'm back with more problems [:@]
In the manual, it says I need 4 hinges per aileron... and I only have 3 each aileron. Is this a typo or am I missing the hinges? If I am where do I get replacements? |
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
Mine has 4 per side. Sig has CA hinges that are pretty good. A couple of bucks per bag at your LHS.
Do you have slots for 4 hinges? Joe |
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
yes 4 slots but not 4 hinges!
arg! I think no one sells Sig hinges... can GP hinges do? Or any hinge will do? |
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
cut one in half, it's only a funfly, relax, have fun :)
|
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
Using any brand will be better than cutting one in half. It's a fun fly but its a very nice fun fly. I love that plane. My fav of four planes.

RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
make a few out of a junk 3.5" floppy disk.

RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
Genius!
Unfortunately, I already bought the GP hinges. Thanks anyway! |
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
dont cut one in half! why risk your plane for a .25 cent hinge?!
|
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
coz you dont have one about and 5-8mm of mylar hinge ( both smaller hingers used on the inside edge of the ailerons ) is pleanty to hold a surface when you don't have anthing else about and WANT! to get flying.
but for me i would have just wacked the three in, i'm not so picky, becides, it would have been taped to seal gaps which helps. My other funfly ( makes Magic ailerons look wimpy ) is ONLY taped some people really like to suck the fun from funfly. |
RE: MODELTECH Magic Extra questions
Wahahaahaha!
I'm done with the hinges. Now I'm at the engine mounting part, are all .40 sized engine's mounting lugs the same (as in distance between holes... size...). I wanna use a GMS .47 to drill holes because my OS 40 FX is currently mounted on another plane. |
