RE: great planes cap??
As standard set up, there is no aileron in prop wash, so impossible to counter act torque effects causeing rolling.
With min i extended the ailerons inso there is about 1 inch between them and the wing, and used wider balsa. However still not really enough force from them in prop wash allone to keep the plane from rolling. Therefore you get torque rolling whether you want it or not. Torque rolling is possible, but it is a small plane, so more difficult than similar planes of largers sizes. Depends on how good your fingures are. (mine are not that good yet) |
RE: great planes cap??
??? My YA 60 sized cap 232 hover sjust fine with the Saito FA-100. My buddy just about touched the rudder on the snow. He hovered it for like 5 minutes then the thing just rocketed out of it with plenty of power to climb unlimited...!!!

I have owned one of these and it was a blast to fly. So much so that my friend built one for himself. I powered mine with an os .70 4-Stroke and his got an O.S. 91 4-Stroke (At my recommendation). I can tell you that with the 70 the plane is very close to unlimited. With the .91 it was truely unlimited. This was my 1st powered plane and it flys almost identically to G2. It survived about 200 flights until it met its demise while loading it in my truck. The elevator did not appreciate having a tool box lowered on it. I decided to retire it but it could have been easily repaired. If you want a great flying little Cap the GP is the way to go. I have also seen the yellow cap fly and it was very impressive too. Almost exactly the same size as the Gp Cap with the yellow being slightly larger. As for motors. The GP will balance perfectly with the os 91 and stock servo locations. Weight should be about 5.5-6 lbs with that combo.

Wow, that color scheme really looks sharp on that plane. Like the black cowel on it. If ya did it yourself my hat goes off to you. Good Job. Caps are sweet machines...!!!

ORIGINAL: rozzibandit ??? My YA 60 sized cap 232 hover sjust fine With wind you can "fly" into wind and it give enough airflow to counter the torque effects (for the same reason as you cant torque roll properly in wind without using the ailerons to help it round. Anyway, the GP Cap is a fun plane and given its design and size is very capable at 3D. |
RE: great planes cap??
I don't know why you have to call me a liar. I am not lieing. Like i said my buddy hovered it just fine and only inches above the ground. It jas a siato fa 100 4 stroke and a Apc prop that he picked for the plane, i'm telling you he hovers it fine. Soon as get my camera i will post the vids of it.
