RE: I-Can't-Do :(
Mark, did you look at the Twist? You already have the right engine for it. Joe

RE: I-Can't-Do :(
be sure you can land this sucker or have an experienced pilot next to you until you can nail a landing with this thing. Almost got smacked in the head by one of these flown by an inexperienced pilot yesterday (memorial day). If I wouldnt have ducked or been watching both planes (mine and his) it would have been interesting. Inexperienced pilots with too much plane are easy to spot, makes the rest of us nervous the whole time out.
Last summer I visited a field about 30 minutes away just to check the club out. I saw 3 ucandos on the flight line. All 3 flew "laps" and only one guy could land his safely (on the first or second try), the rest stalled, overshot or ended up nosing it in just to get it down. I understand your urge to jump in the deep end, just be humble with your flying skills. Sure, the ucando is an easy plane to fly IF you are used to flying such a plane. |
RE: I-Can't-Do :(
Mark, I understand. My comments were with regard to Lipos, not Nicads or Nimh batteries. With Lipos you can now get power to weight and duration equivalent to IC, though the cost is a bit high still.
As for waiting for the charging of batteries, even with IC I rarely average more than one flight an hour [:@]. Perhaps others are more successful at getting in the air. OK, so how did you get the OS so cheap? I would never consider one as I can get a YS 63 or a Saito 72 (now 82) considerably cheaper than the OS. |
RE: I-Can't-Do :(
Ok, lol, where do we start hehe ??
Cumn thru - Twist, bit too ugly, lol, sort of set on what i have picked. Coveredup - I have an experienced flyer who will be taking me to sign up with a local club (much to my disgust, lol, but these things need doing i spose) Sprink - OS so cheap, got from a seller on Ebay that i have bought many things from, so i was happy to go for it, brand new, in box, unopened, all the kit, perfect, luvvly jubbly. As for the electric / ic debate, i want a plane that sounds like a plane for starters, i also want the ability to go up and down all day if i want to, yet with electric, of any type, i would be severely limited money wise to be able to do that. You obviously love electric now, i will love ic i am sure, its probably the big boy in me, lol Just to finish up what has become quite a thread, and thank you for all your replies by the way, i have phoned everywhere i know trying to find a Ucando 46, all have sold out and are awaiting a shipment, apparently something happened to the last shipment from Great Planes, that's why there is a shortage at the moment, and it IS looking like 3 months, so my next choice is going to be THE plane - The Hype 3D ;)- i trust the comments from people on here much much more than one persons bad experience with it, so woohoo, choice is made, i'm off to order one, thanks again you guys, RC Universe kicks ass, great place, and recommended to all my friends all the time. :D:D |
RE: I-Can't-Do :(
The Fun 50 by Kangke outperforms the Hype. I just read a post by a guy who has both and did a very fair comparison. The Fun 50 is also cheaper and lighter. Not sure if available to the UK pilots or if shipping is feasible.

RE: I-Can't-Do :(
Well do you know what, it's getting beyond a joke now [:@]

RE: I-Can't-Do :(
Hmm... Kangke is available in the UK, as long as you want one of the bigger scale kits [:@].
For the Hype, have you tried Bumpy Green? Thing with this and UCD, if you cant find it at the usual suspects, dig out an issue of RCME or RCMW, and start phoning round the smaller model shops they list at the back. They may have one in stock as their turnover is lower. |
RE: I-Can't-Do :(
Actually its just as bad for a Brit to buy from US. Theres some boycott thing cause the US did something illegal concerning trade law. When I imported a 9C I was smug thinking I got it cheap then BANG $120 tax.
