shahid, you say 300,000 for a Su-31?????? ill take one!

I think you got the numbers completly wrong there. 3 million, if not 30 million for high end full size technology

Here's a number of Sukhoi Videos as well a couple with his own design, the Juka. This is one of Europe's best pilots.

I saw a pilot named Michael Goulian at the Wings Over Houston Airshow last year ('03) pull up into a hover for a good 8 to 10 seconds, while torque rolling. I SAW IT! He flys a Cap 232. He put on an AWESOME performance. Fort me it was one of the stand out performances at the show. Along with the jet truck SHOCKWAVE. Also, Michael raced the truck! The truck was setting at the end of the runway, and when Michael flew by the truck, it fired up the afterburners and caught the Cap a third of the way down the runway and then easily ran off and left it. Pretty quick. You could see a "shochwave" in the air in front of the truck for real. VERY cool. :D

:D:D:DFULL SCALE HOVERING IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THE PILOT. SHOW A VIDEO INSTEAD OF SAYING CRAPS.

30 million edible? erm?

Think both the sukhois and extras are around £300,000

RE: Full scale hovering

eddys confused, the 300k was for the props, the SU-31 is way beyond that :)

still .6 million ( first said figure ) is still mega cheap, i would have shot at 6 million for the proto raven

There was a special on TV I believe WINGS or something I caught and it profiled the new Su-31, and they had film from I believe the Paris Airshow. It was unbelievable. The 31 accomplishes it's extreme maneuvering from a vectoring exhaust nozzle on it's jet engine that instantly changes the thrust line. Very, very cool.
You mean the SU-30 MKI, SU-31 tis a prop plane. SU-30 MKI cvan out manoever anything hands down, whenm one Sukhoi pilot challeneged any pilot to a dogfight (not real missles of course lock-on) at an aurshow after his display not even the F-22 people bothered:)

Are you sure millions? I could swear by a kebab roll I heard £300,000, hell Ive seen full size B25s going for 500,000, which I value more. Ah who cares. Ill make my own out of liteply.

i'm all confused because i thought the su-36 was the thrust vectoring monster...

RE: Full scale hovering

SU-36?!?!?

SU-37, SU-35 SU-30MK, SU-30MKI (indian export version of the MK demonstaor) are the mainacs.

SU-30MKI is the best one ebcause it has all direction not just up and down, its only for India but since its the best the Russians should have one too thats what I never underrstood.

All good fun planes though, time to search every sofa in the world, maybe I might find wenough to buy one!

Or at least a flight for £3000 or somewherr around there

RE: Full scale hovering

ah, thats were i got confused! 31 is the prop plane, so i recon 1M for one of those. the 30 (close number) is the jet which would cost 3 mill if not 30 mill.

Shahid 06-22-2004 11:40 AM

RE: Full scale hovering

15 mil? I still stand by 300,000 for the SU-31, though tell you what, I will find out now! I know for a Yak 52 its £50,00 completre overhall and civilianised

Cactus. 06-22-2004 11:43 AM

RE: Full scale hovering

50 quid?!

still say 300k is CHEAP! for a top spec competitive aircraft, that makes supercars look expensive lol

Ian.W 06-22-2004 01:03 PM

RE: Full scale hovering

no, i thnk were all geting confused!

i think for a Su-31 about 700k to 1million USD (thats wot they usually price them in)

468hotrod 06-22-2004 02:58 PM

RE: Full scale hovering

You guys are all over the place with prices on these Sukhoi's... The new price for any of the modern aerobatic planes today (Edge 540, Extra 300/330, and the Sukhoi 26/29/31) are all in the $350,000-$400,000 US Dollar price range, depending on options. As you can see from this site a good used Sukhoi 29 goes for about $185,000 US Dollars.

http://www.aircraftbrowser.com/Sukhoi.htm

There are a number of sites that lists the price of these planes. There is a UK site called "russianaeros.com" that has a Yak-SP55M for sale for $105,000 US Dollars. A new Yak-SP55M is by far the least expensive high performance plane out there. With the 400hp engine it makes for a decent performer... about 85-90% of what a Sukhoi can do for about 50% of the cost...

welldone hotrod, I've seen an extra 300s for £112000 over here, I thought they sounded a bit pricy. tried looking on the net for a price. Cause I always say I'll have an extra over ferrari if I win 0 he lottery. Cause they're the same price, you can't go upside in a ferrari (unless it's a merc clk) in whichi case you can get the 99 model to do 5 flips in the air. that was so cool, anyway ( and the driver walked out got in the spare car and did it again) sorry, plus the extra 300 does 0-60 in about 3secs. and pulls 10g.

"WHat would you think would pull more, and ferrari or an extra 300 - an extra 300 of what my g/f says."[&:]

Also some useless facts, did you know a fully laden 777 will do 0-60 in 5.7 secs. Thats faster than a Porsche boxer.

RE: Full scale hovering

still cant believe these things are so cheap!

Shahid 06-22-2004 04:42 PM

RE: Full scale hovering

Soryy that was £50k for a YAK 52 otally done up with BIG engine.

See? I told you so! :)

well better start saving now, alot of former urssian planes are cheap because they need the money, flights in SU-27s are readily avaiable and so is astonaut training. Just book a flight and wham your off to russia to fly an SU-27

fun isnt it? only the price that isnt, mind you, a flight in a Mig 25 at mach 3 on the edge of space sounds good and cheap for the money....

Your numbers for these aircraft are WAY off.

These are brand new prices directly off the websites:

Edge 540 $231,655
Cap 232 $250,000

The pricing on the Sukhoi is hard to come by, as they're not being produced any more. You can still get one as a special order though. A friend purchased a new Su-26M3 last year for $266,000 with the new 420hp Voronezh M9F 9-cyl radial engine replacing the now out of production Vedeneyev M14P. This aircraft has the Su-29 wing, Su-31 ailerons, and Su-31 tail group on it giving it the highest power to weight of any Sukhoi aerobatic airplane to date. The Su-26 is more desirable for competition use as it's a bit more stable in yaw than the Su-31 was making it present better in the box.

The Extra isn't really even a consideration anymore on the world aerobatic stage since it's too heavy. At the 2003 WAC in Lakeland, FL, not a single Extra was flown in competition.
