A Magic & Chip Hyde
Chip was at Lov-Air's (Ft. Collins CO.) Big Bird, flying a Magic ( this was his first time to fly one) INCREDIBLE!!!!!
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
he hovered it and THEN he grabbed it out of the air BY HIMSELF!!!!!
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
Yep. I know. Makes you want to quit huh?
I had the oppotunity one day to watch Chip and Jason fly in Tucson. Unreal!!!!! I saw Jason pick up a Ultrastick .40 (that wasnt set up for 3D) and absolutely tear the sky up with it. Hovers that were on the deck. Backing it down in a hover from about 50 feet up. Definately a sight to see. |

Me and my dumbthumbs, or is it the nature laws here in Sweden that differs? :(
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
Wayne,
It makes me want to try harder! I learned so much from him! |
A Magic & Chip Hyde
it makes me want to go to the Field and fly all day until i can do it. i seen Mike Sauls fly a couple of months ago. i wasn't even in to 3d until i seen his performance. know its all i try to do. i asked him if it was talent or practice and he said " i fly every day rain snow or shine. so it's one part talent and one part practice!
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
Yup.
Watching those guys on that level makes you want to keep practicing. |
A Magic & Chip Hyde
It is good to have access to those guys to help work out the bugs in your routine. Trial and error takes to darn long to fin the right answers.
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
yep trial and error can get expensive. right when i was trying a harrier landing today and put my sledge right in to the ground. i can't wait to get it fixed so i can try it again. :)

A Magic & Chip Hyde
Coony,
You never learn, do you? I still hope you do it! I wonder how many crashes Chip has had? |
A Magic & Chip Hyde
i have always heard the more you crash the better you get. damn i ought to be good. :)
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
It's not the number of crashes you have it's what you learn from them.
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
I've learned how to repair composite planes...LOL
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
JAS is being modest! :)
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
I haven't ever crashed, so does that meen I'm good or bad?
|
A Magic & Chip Hyde
It means you havent been in the hobby long enough, or dont fly enough! :D
It makes me feel bad that I cant do that...YET... I really need to go flying TWO times a day! Yeah, thats it! :D |
Crashing
Robert I think that its necessary to crash once in a while! If your flying planes that are 3D its almost important to your development. Look at all the great figure skaters and think where they would be if they never fell. If you want to be on the edge you need to expose yourself to the dangers that the edge intails! Planes like the Magic 3D are meant to be put in harms way. As long as its done in a manner that is safe and not too offensive to your fellow flyers. After all its only a hundred dollar plane.

Say what you will, Chip Hyde isn't human. He's obviously an alien from a planet with super powers that allow him to effect the gravity field on Earth.

I watched Chip Hyde at Muncie last year and was also very impressed with his airplane skills. I saw him again this year, at Muncie, and he put on a helicopter demo. He is just as impressive with a heli.
