RE: my NEXT 3D plane
[:@]i go back next week monday[:@].. i've tried these foamy on Aerofly.. and they are HARD to fly... and REALLY hard to hover.. is that true w/ the real thing? any recommendations for a foamy setup?
|
RE: my NEXT 3D plane
i dont know what program aerofly is but its not accurate the flat outs fly great i have the turmoil powered by this axi [link]http://www.modelmotors.cz/index.php?id=en&nc=produkty_vypis&kategorie=m_neod ym_ac&id_rady=axi_22&id_produktu=axi_2208_26&nazev _rady=Series%20AXI%2022&hmotnost_rady=(24,5%20-%2057%20g)[/link] and i run a 2 cell lipoly battery, gws pico servos, and a berg reciever. trust me the things fly great and there amazing at 3d.

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
G3 ROCKS!
Xoon, THe FlatOuts look good. The GP Yak also looks good and wouldn't be that expensive since it only needs a radio system.:D What grade are you going into? |
RE: my NEXT 3D plane
lol me or xoon well anyways I'm a senior in high school this year but i also have college credits because of AP courses i took last year I'm also taking more this year, so i have the first half of my freshmen year of college done for my architectural engineering degree or mechanical engineering degree not sure which one i want to do yet? Also picked up a CAD certificate during this summer through a near by community college all it means is i know how to use CAD for drafting. Also on the flat outs spend the extra money get the axi i showed and a brushless speed controller don't use what they come with for motors or speed control. I only bought the kit for the foam and the carbon, not the motor or speed control.

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
haha.. i'm going into 10 grade takin all HONORS and one AP class. this year is gonna be crazy, i got drumline and all these classes.. i don't think i'm going to have time to fly durin the weekends... that's why now i'm looking at electric. i will need brushless setup and lipo if i want to 3D .. [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0161p?&I=LZ1879]i'm looking at this plane.. [/link] what do you guys recommened.. full package recommendation?
|
RE: my NEXT 3D plane
last year the only class i had that wasn't AP was CAD and it was honors and thats the highest it went thats AP pre calc, english, civics, physics, anatomy, and regular old gym. That was easy for me plus i got a 1500 on my SAT's but i've only taken the old one. I got all A's and one B in math. Plus i was on the basketball team, baseball team, and i was racing enduros on my dirtbike, plus work 20-40 hours a week flying at the soccer field, and hanging out with my fiancee whenever else i had time (she came to my games and races and even flying). As for your set up i don't like it I'm telling you spend the extra money and get the axi it over powers these easily and they fly better with it because the axis are lighter motors, and with a castle creations speed controller these things really kick, As for servos i don't know what you plan on using but i highly recommend GWS Picos they are the smallest lightest servos and work amazing on these, and for the receiver a berg would work good or a Hitec micro 555. as for the batteries and charger that comes with that package they look pretty good, and i know the charger works good. as for the speed controller it wouldn't work because its not a brush-less speed controller.

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
yea.. i've been pulling A's through freshman year.. and crossing my fingers to pull it off this year again... now i have $350 ready to spend on a new plane.. i REALLY REALLY like glow over electric because glow is fly and fly no recharge.. that's the reason i dont like electric and LIPO! those thing take forever to charge!! i'll still lookin for a good 3d plane... i'm thinking of the EXTREME FLIGHT mini 3D but the problem is that plane is NEVER IN STOCK!! and good GLOW powered plane that is 3D capable that i can fly in like a soccer field?? or electric plane will be fine as long as i have enough money to buy at least 3 packs of LIPO....

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
trust me you will be impressed with them if you end up getting one, i have no problems with them no cleaning just throw it in my car and go. As for the charging they have quick field chargers that will charge a pack in 10-15 minutes and all you do is hook it up to your car battery. Also i dont know if you know this or not but your can fly a long time on the right pack. Im flying 10-15 minutes on one pack and i have three thats an easy half an hour of flying. the charger i have is this one with my own connectors [link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCJG7&P=ML[/link] but i dont think you want to spend that much on a charger although it does charge all my other airplanes too (all the glow stuff). (i'd get it for all my planes its an excelent charger!) all i have to say is just keep on saving your money and once your 16 get a part time 20-40 hour job during the winter then work full time 40-60 hours at multiple jobs during the summer thats what i do. (i finally found 2 jobs and now i work at a bank as a teller (day) and a maintence guy at a bowling alley at night.)

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
Good luck with 10'th grade Xoon, and the 12'th grade Motodude11.:D I'm interested in an electric, but I won't have the money for a while due to my 25% H9 Cap.:D:D(lacking engine and servos)

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
Xoon, just get a Hydrofoam.:D
By the way, have you decided on what motor you're going to put on your CA Extra? |
RE: my NEXT 3D plane
man.. i've seen that thing flies and it is sweet!!! haha.. just kidding. i really want a glow power plane.. and i just called Extreme Flight today... and they said that the mimi 3d is not gonna be there for like a month or two.. i just got to wait.. but i CAN"T! i still need a good plane to fly.. my aim now is to look at cheap planes like the KATANA GS 40 on EBAY, but they took the bid all off this morning ( people who buy that off ebay knows what i'm talkin about). i want a good 3D but a cheap one to learn 3D even through i know how to do it all on the SIM, i don't want to take chances w/ a $200 plane right now... any suggestions?

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
How about a Magic?

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
i dont know you cant beat the foam stuff for 3d capability or cheapness!!! 3 GWS pico servos $53.85+ $67.99 castle creation speed control + $31.99 hitec 4 channel micro reciever + $30 for plane + $82.97 for three packs Kokam 1500 mah and an Axi 2208/26 $65.90 for a total of $332.70 for a setup and 3 lipo packs if you ask me thats cheaper than gas with all the equipment.

RE: my NEXT 3D plane
this is why i fear FOAM planes now.. haha.. [link=http://www.rc-sim.de/index_en.htm]check this out[/link] is anyone who has aerofly PRO and fly FOAM planes.. please tell me if it acts exactly the same as that plane...
ORIGINAL: motodude11 i dont know you cant beat the foam stuff for 3d capability or cheapness!!! Josh and you forgot a charger :D.. thanks a lot for the setup recommendation... but i will see if the plane above for the SIM actually fly like the realt thing.. still UNDECIDED!!! lol i got $370 right now and the supertiger is now sold yet.. so that's another $100.. even though i finally save up all these money.. i don't want to spend it all, these are hard earned money and i don't want to crash another plane that is $200 on the third flight |
RE: my NEXT 3D plane
the thing about these planes xoon is if you do crash them you can always take the gear out and put it in another $30 plane, unless you just get plans and cut the foam which is $10 and $10 in foam plus the carbon which is like $5, also most of the time your not do fast flying your doing 3d so if you do goof up you can usually go get the hot glue gun and fix it. All i can say is mine flys great and i love it. If you really want to know how they fly ask the guys in the electric forums. Its not like you have to buy anymore gear you already have it. O yes i have this link for you go here and watch foamies in action. [link=http://foamyfactory.com/]Foamyfactory[/link] I think you'll be impressed. By the way my grandfather has the mini 3dx shockie, and i just built one, im putting all the stuff from the setup above plus instead of the Ai 2208/26 im putting the 2208/34 on it, this plane truely flys great, and so does the turmoil, if you dont have time to go to the field these are great.
