U-Can-DO .60 with saito FA125

Just picked up my saito 125 yesterday, installed in the UCD60 last night, going to fly sunday.
Anyone have this plane/engine combo? I'm curious how they work together.
I know the 125 has loads of power in a small, lightweight case, so i figure it will be quite a match

Thanx,
Jared

:)Go to the UCD46 thread and ask for gjeffiers. He can give you a wealth of info. I think he likes his.
Thanks

Jared, your gonna love this combo. mine is the most fun tho fly in my hangar, ive only had one plane i liked as much and it was my ucd46 with saito 100;)
this plane goes up forever(fast) if you like vertical and is very economical on fuel after you lean out the low speed needle , so if it seems like a gashog then remember that your still to rich on the lowend,(this is a common misconception about saitos).
ive had my ucd for over a year and had this engine on since beginning of feb and love it:D

here are some pics.

this is my first saito...well my first 4-stroker to be honest. I've flown with 2-strokers since i can remember cause I could never afford a bigger, better engine. I'll have to remember that about the low end needle, that will save me alot of frusteration.
Curious, where is your CG set at? Mine is set at the stock location, but thats a little conservetive
for my taste. Do you balance with a full tank of fuel or dry? speaking of fuel, I was told to use 30%
heli fuel for this engine. true?
last question, You have your engine mounted sideways...does that improve the carb flooding problem on the UCD?

Nice low inverted pass!!!:D

Be patient with 4 strok engines. They need extra care at the begining interms of the breakin and the settings then the will start pay you back. Great combo, 4 guys in our club are using this combo and they all happy. It is so powerfull though!

my cg is at 5.75

balance with a mt tank

30% is ok but you dont need to spend the extra dollars because with this plane and engine combo 15% is plenty.(and i like a little castor in mine, good for the cam and bearings)

and yes it aleviates all flooding probs without spending extra dollars on regulators.(thats why i did it;))

holy crap...I love it. FIRST flip of the prop and it was running, never died once! ran 2 tanks through
it yesterday. never took it over 1/3 throttle though. I just couldnt believe the plane lifted off of the ground at 1/4 throttle!!!!!! I'm definately going to take my time breaking this one in, i want it to last a LOOONG time.
hey gjeffers, when you mounted your engine sideways, did you have to drill new holes in the firewall, or could you use the existing holes? I'd like to try mounting mine like that, but i might not mess with it if i have to drill

same holes 3D;)
ya just have to be creative to hook up the throttle linkage, but you can do it:)

ya i saw your little "Z-bend" kinda thing....very clever! I like! I may have to steal your idea with that. i had another question....Its been descused several times before, but, UNIFLOW....
I made my tank into a uf setup, i just hope i got the lines setup right?? a clunk on the carb line, a clunk on the exhaust line, and a fill line...correct or am i an idiot?
:)
