If you had $400 to spend on a .46 size 3d plane and engine, what would you buy?

Does the mojo come as a kit only. I'm restricted by time, space to build right now.

RE: how to spend $400?
I'm in the same market & am looking at the OMP Katana V2 46 ARF.
I'm going with Saito 72 so I'll be a bit over 400. :D |
RE: how to spend $400?
Why don't you get the combo with the YS 63? A way better engine for $384 including shipping. I also have my eye on this deal. I am also looking at the Badboy. The Mojo arf appears to have a wait.

IMO, the Saito 72 doesn't compare to the ys 63. If you must go Saito, you should get the 82. It's the same size. The 72 is really kind of outdated.

RE: how to spend $400?
My experience with Saito 82 on a profile hasn't been very positive. While it's a great engine, it does have a lot a vibration. As for the profile, a vibrant nose result in a very dynamic fuel tank. I can see the fuel getting twirl around like juice in a blender. It will cause much leaner mixture as fuel is getting consumed, so I end up starting the flight w/ very rich idle setting.
I don't have this problem on a fatty. Profile just seems to have this problem with Saito 82. Hey, look out for the new Webra 55, due out in US mid May. 13x4W @ over 12k rpm, baby! |
RE: how to spend $400?
I have the first version of the Katana gs 40 with a saito 82 on it. With a 14 x 6 master airscrew prop this thing hovers at 1/3 throttle and rockets out of a hover!

The 82 has had more fuel through it so maybe (fingers crossed) the 100 will settle down a but after a few gallons. |
