I would go with the OS 46. Its a great running motor with wonderful transition. The 50 would give you a bit more power but is more money. My 46 AX is one of my favorite small 3D engines because it runs perfectly, every time. This helps boost confidence when huckin' down low.

The fuse is VERY LIGHTLY built as is the rest of the plane..
Many are using a 46s but they just have to be shaking
the plane apart...

The 36 Webra has the VERY FASTEST vertical pull out
from a Hover than ANY 3d plane that I have owned...

So I JUST do not see adding the weight and power more
to the plane...Like I said, many are...

The plane is so new so we will all see how things work out

Good point

That plane seems like the best deal because it is less than half the cost of the mojo arf and comes with a fuel tank, wheels, spinner, ect.

How did it go together?
Did it biuld well?
How does it fly?

I am thinking about a thundertiger tt 46 or os 46 ax.
Wouldn't they be lighter than the 52 4-stroke that they say you can put in it?

I don't care what plane you buy, thats up to you but I do know one thing and that the 52 4-stroke isn't much use for any 40 size 3D planes.

Actually a 52-size 4 stroke from Saito or OS is mostly seen in scale planes these days. For a 40 size 3D plane the best 4 strokes are YS-63, OS-70 Ultimate and Saito to 72/.82, and they weight about the same as a 2-stroke 46 ( with mufflers ). A quite good and inexpensive 2-stroke choice is the OS 46 AX with a 12.25x3.74 prop, or a good 52 maybe ( I have no experience with Irvine or Magnum though, some say they are as good as OS, others notice some issues with carb and run reliability ).
But we seem to hijack the thread...An inexpensive ARF plane has the added benefit of shorter time to fly and less grief if it meets the ground the wrong way ;-)

if price is a big factor in your choice, go with a MOJO 40 kit, fast easy build and they fly great at under 4 lbs. with standard servoes, i had a WEBRA 50 on mine first then switch to a SAITO 72 the 72 is a bit better for 3d for me. the mojo flies great with the 2 strokes that you mention.

I would like to keep the cost of the plane, with wheels, spinner, tank, under 150.

I am scared of kits, rating from 1-10, 10 being the easiest, how easy is the mojo 40 to biuld.

The mojo has to be one of the easiest planes around to build. There is actually a whole build by picture thread going at the profile brotherhood site and you can ask the designer anything you want and he will get back to ya usually in a day or so. You CANNOT beat getting advice forom the guy that designed it.

I have built 2 Mojos and 2 Burritos. I rate them easy, quick builds.

Cambo, the mojo is a 10 in terms of ease of build. I had mine framed up in about 8hrs taking my time. Nothing flies like a mojo, you owe it to yourself to try one and see what all the hype is about. Mine weighs 4lb 1oz with a TTpro .46 and mousse can pipe-it has insane power!! It flies even better than everyone said it would.

The plane would build VERY FAST if I used the Goldenrod type push rods
they included.. I installed carbon fiber tubes and ran their wire through
them ... I am sure the included set up would work, but I am just that way..

From what I have learned on this plane is that the 4 strokes will not fit
without modifying the mount... same with even a OS 40LA

Like I said, the vertical pull out from a hover is just WILD with the Webra 36..
If I was to use a 46 it would be an OS 46ax for sure..

Let me just say also that I have not flown a Mojo..
From what I have heard , it would be HARD to out fly, 40 size...
The only problem for many is the $190 cost...

The Mojo most likely will be my next profile..

The EF Edge 540 ARF should make a fine first 3D plane. Profiles are definitely the way to go!

ef edge 540t w/ os .46 fx hovers/trqs at 1/2 throttle :D It's amazing, it will do anything you throw at it!

Its kinda funny that people talk about their plane hovering at 1/2 throttle, and you know what, mine might but I do know that there is a lot more throttle under half than over half. What I mean is that I get more thrust in the first half of the throttle than I ever do in the last half of my throttle. All I fly is +/-46 size 2-strokes and I love'em but they don't make all that much more throttle after half. Its not like you have 50% more to go or something.

With that all said a 46-52 size two stroke is a great option for a burrito, mojo, EF edge!!!

With this being your first profile be a little careful about using ALL the travel on the control surfaces down low. Go play up high until your used to the instant flips and rolls.
