G2 has served its purpose already for me b/c I was contemplating buying the 1/4 GP Giles! I am very glad I tried it in G2 first. I certainly didn't think it would feel that much different than the other aerobatic planes. Just not my taste.

I don't think it's a good idea to judge the way an airplane flies by the way it flies in the simulator...The simulator is pretty far off on a lot of airplanes...Take some advice from people who are flying real ones instead of the simulator and I think you will be much better off!

I will say that all the Giles I have seen were real snappy, just like on G2....

Something that is a LOT of fun is to make a recording of yourself flying around, then get the same plane, only a different color and fly in formation! its TONZ of fun!!

Is there a way to "walk" around manually to change the pilot position? I noticed that you can save new positions, but how do you get to a new position in the first place?

I'm sure you are right, but I HOPE, that the people at GP have flown the Giles and compared performance to G2. I would think that the stock planes fly reasonably authentic, unless maybe you are doing really crazy maneuvers. Anyway, it sounds like you have flown a Giles before; is G2 close? Is it that hard(relatively) to fly straight up from takeoff, and into a hover?

Yes, ther is a way to walk around in circles, Go to view and move the mouse over "moving pilot" and select what you want him to do.

I have never flown one, but have seen 3 different ones fly a couple times. They were all snappy and heavy...Landings were FAST (unless you want it to tip stall and tumble over a couple times). There is no chance of 3D with it from what I have seen...

To move around, press F8 and then use your mouse to move to anywhere you want and then click the mouse again...

I saw a guy doing 3D w/ his GP giles. TR, flatspins, rolling harriers, just about all the 3D you could expect from a 1/4 scale plane. It had a 1.60 FX

I have a version of the extra 300 that will harrier inverted, upright and most of the other 3D stuff, except waterfall. Every time I make a plane waterfall, it flies like #@&#% doing everything else.
Major mods are needed and although the parameters don't represent any kind of airplane I know, they do fly kind of close.
I think I have some video from last year that looked really cool, I will try to post it later tonight. IF anyone really wants a challenge, try hovering the Fokker Dr1, it's fun. If I remember right, I think that it needed a bigger motor to do it, but that should be it.

i dunno if its my Delux RF, but REALFLIGHT SUCKS!! The planes dont fly like planes, if they can tork, then the dont fly normal.

I had Real Flight classic and the flying characteristics are exactly the same as G2...Just different airplanes that really need a lot of modifications to fly like the modified planes in G2...

I love G2. Regardless of how close it is to the real ones, the control inputs are the same and the reactions to them are the same as in real life. It has taught me more than I have ever learned out at the flying field...

If you don't want it anymore, I could be talked into taking it...

I have an extra for G2 that will do EVERYTHING. It will do the wall, parachute, harrier, elevator (all inverted AND right side up) It will hover almost hands off. It is the 330s, so it requires add ons 4. The airfoil for the wing is one that came in one of the add ons, not sure which one it is, but if you want it let me know. email me at [email protected]

I am wagering that I will save at LEAST two planes from the torque roll experience I have gained from G2. Even IF it is not completely realistic at TR simulation, it has taught me rudder and elevator hand/eye coordination, which is the hardest part, IMO. Plus, in nasty weather, I can at least get a partial "fix" flying G2. In short, I am a very satisfied customer.

i got an email from Knife Edge Software and they say G3 will be out in the fall of this year concentrating on large scale aircraft and better dynamics..

My favorite downloads have been the TOC Cap, H9 33% Cap, The Extra 330L 40%, and that big Ultimate "Perso" thingie that will do what looks like a flat spin and also hover and all that like the others.

I modified the 330L 3D and that is by far my favorite airplane...I used to have a modified Extra Special I made, but I lost it when my 'puter went down.

Oh and I agree, G2 is definitely worthless!
