How much does your plane weigh? And what size smoke tank?

I'm thinking about installing a smoke system in my edge but don't want to gain too much weight.

Well I had a 10 oz. in it at first and then I put a 16 oz. I got about 6 min. of smoke. I didn't make any attempt to lighten the plane just beefed the #$%& out of it. It came in a 17lbs. It flew fine though. Landed hot. I am now going to install a BME 50 and reconstruct with CF. I want it down to 14lbs max. Awesome plane with smoke. I have more pics if interested.

Sorry, 6 min. with 16oz. and about 4 with 10oz. I am planning on replacing the firewall and radio tray with lamintated light ply with CF. I am still engineering it. I will take pics as I go. I will probably start in the next day or so. I don't want another 17lb plane. It is hard to make them light. There is nothing to them to begin with.

Telling it like it is... I like that. Some of the fellas from the field will tell me about their 10-lbs 1/4 scale planes. We weigh them at the house and never one under 12-lbs so far... and they're running glow with no smoke.

I say yank the smoke off and get that sucker down to 13-lbs. It really starts flying good at that weight. :-)

The smoke is awesome though. I was trying to decide between gyros or smoke and went with smoke and decided I don't need training wheels just learned how to hover. I will post my wieght with my fish scale on the Edge when I start. I have a ton of CF that I picked up from a swap meet. I want to start to utilize the stuff.

Oh. 17lbs was with full tanks. 24oz. gas and 16 oz. of diesel fuel for smoke. Not that I am making excuses or anything. It was really 8 lbs empty. Haha Just kidding.
