RE: Goldberg Matrix

It flies nice ...not difficult at all ... does not tip stall like some scale planes etc. Should not be a handful if you are familiar with low wong planes.

Shoehorned a Saito .91 in mine and love it - absolutely unlimited vertical and same all-up weight as with recommended OS 70FS. Placed 2 low profile servos in the tail for ele and went to pull/pull set up for rudder. Plane flies on rails like a pattern ship and has great rudder authority. Set it up right, and knife-edge loops are almost easy. If flying from grass toss stock wheels & pants. Have fun w/ it.

They are a little heavy. Not too great for 3D .Flys more like a pattern plane.Very stable.I have a Saito 82 in mine.Plenty of power.

I had one and learned to hover with it. Had a YS63 and it was unlimited vertical. First flight I fluttered the ailerons with standard servos. Mine would tip a wing if you pulled too hard when coming out of a loop. You either had to be smooth with the sticks, or yank the stick so it would wall right through the stall zone. Fun plane. I wadded it up trying to show off for the camera. Replaced with a Mojo profile and never looked back.

I never weighed mine, but w/ 2 servos in the tail it balanced rite on the money. With the Saito 91 it didn't "fly heavy".

I had a Magnum 91 4 stroke in mine; in retrospect my OS 70 has equal or better power than the 91 but I didn't have the 70 when I got the Matrix. I still have it but it's been decommissioned for now. My main suggestion is do not use the stock elevator setup. Use dual elevator servos in the tail. When I'm ready to fly mine again that is what I will do. Also, and OS or Magnum 91 is just not a good choice for 3D - the saito 82, Os/Magnum 70 or the obvious YS options.

Flight performance? Handles wind well, very good control authority but does show quite a bit of wing rock upright in a harrier - Inverted isn't as bad. It is a nice airplane and I have enjoyed mine. I think when I get better - it will be better.
