Menace Flat Spins
I have been flying my new Menace the past two days--must have 15 to 18 flights on it now. I really enjoy it; it snaps very fast, spins great, seems to want to hover (I am teaching myself how), and generally flies great, but I have one question. When I do a flat spin (upright or inverted), it seems to do larger lazy turns rather than tight turns as I expected. Sort of floats like a butterfly more than buzzing like a bee, if you know what I mean. What do you experienced 3-D flyers have to say about this, and is there a cure? There are no 3-D flyers in my club to ask.
By the way, I am using a TT36 engine. Any recommendations for prop size? |

Maybe not enough throttle or rudder. How many degrees of throw does your rudder have? You generally want at least 40, mine is around 50 - 55.
Is your plane staying flat or is the nose pointed slightly downward? CG will also play a part in it too if it is too far forward. |
