My limbo has also been highly modified, i weighs less than 2pounds. The elevator servo is under the tail for fast responce. It is powered by a ASP 36 and will PH at under 1/2 power on a 10x4" APC. The CG is about half the wing, which makes it superb for prophanging and spinning. Also excels at torque rolling.

huge thumbs up for the Cougar over anything else in it's class, i've got one of the very first imports, tho i'm on my second fuz due to some bad wood, not that the first isn't still useable. it takes so much abbuse and flys so well. i don't think my wing has a solid rib left but it still takes all the G's i can throw at it and a few dorks. even won the last fly for fun with the tatty old dog! 6 min flight from a 20 second climb, would have been longer, but i won by 2 mins already and everyone was bored.
i use a Leo 37 and 11x4 Master, great combo |

LOL abuse on the cougar. thats an understatment. seen your website.LOL
Your using a master prop......ugh.......are you insane, there only good for epoxy stirring Ian |

the APC 10x4 is also a good combo, but it revs high and dosn't give the most power in the hang, at zero airspeeds the Master gives better power, plus because its a bit crap you can go up an inch in size compaire to the APC which bites like hell. above 5mph ish the Master looses it's advantage and the APC wins, thats why i went with the 10x4 for the climb and glide. rest of the time its the 11x4 for power in the hang.
case in point... my cougar on the 11x4 vs a irvine 39 cougar with a 10x4 APC, i can pull out of the hang easily, the other has to hang on more RPM and pulls out slower, also has less control. |

Edible,
Sorry I thought you were doing it as part of your bodge! Philly, I picked up my 2nd Cougar (used) last Friday. It came with Irvine 39 with 11.5x4 APC (i think?) Are you saying the Leo is better than the Irvine? My Leo is in a little CAP232 3d model meant for 25 size motors, don't know if it'll go bang when I start throwing it about! I can hook it out tho and do a swap.........? Andy :) |

a 11.5x4 APC! sounds way too much, my leo will spin the 12.thingyx3.somenumberiforgot ok, but it dosnt like it, would be ok if i had a throttle pipe.
all i know is MY Leo on a 11x4 performs much better than the Irvine 39 on a 10x4, think he tried the 11x4 too, i was still better. nothing wrong with the Irvine apart from the stupid colour tho. shouldn't have messed with the classic 36. Wish Dean had let me know his Cougar was going with the Leo for 30 quid! |

Archie
does the capiche come in artf form or is it a kit?? or how much to supply a kit thats been built no engine or radio just air frame ..i dont have the time or experience to put one together thanks miskin |
easiest to hover. Hype or Cougar?
They come as a kit. I want oe too. but im skint
|
easiest to hover. Hype or Cougar?
they are a kit yes but very very simple to assemble... thats what we spent a lot of time on to convince people to build again and achieve a return to individuality.
I dont think ARTF woudl achieve the same weight target. The Hype is one of the earlier ones with the red blue yellow white schemes. As far as structural integrity is concerned it looks and feels okay to me but I guess it depends how you are gonna treat it... |

I'm building one at the moment, this is my first kit ever that I'll have built and tho I'm not too far in its not too bad so far. I'm using the thread in the Scratch Build section of RCU, but may well PM Archie if the going gets a little confusing soon! I'm working on the Fuz, but gonna get a clubmate to show me how to do wings and cover..... Andy :) |

Philly, I will run the Irvine up tomorrow, and if it doesn't cut the mustard, I'll give JE a call and have a Leo in by Saturday :D
Andy :) |

Irvine should be fine. the 36 is amazing and the 39 is even better.
Run it on a 10x5 |
easiest to hover. Hype or Cougar?
if you do get the Leo make sure its the SF version with the 7.5mm carb, the last person i recomended the engine to got the standard version which is slightly cheaper and then moaned it wasn't that good
i still love the old irvine 36's and i wish they still did them, fantastic carbs and long life, i just can't buy an engine in that stupid colour. talking of which, the West 35 would tick all the right boxes |
easiest to hover. Hype or Cougar?
The Leo I've got already is the SF, and yeas its very good. For the money its unbeatable. As for the Irvine well we'll see when it stops raining......:(
