It seems you best have just the right power setting and the right touch on the stick, or it ain't gonna hydroplane.
If my memory serves me correctly the equation for hydroplaning is:

Speed = 9 X the square root of the tire pressure.

This will allow the tire to maintain the hydroplaning effect over the waters surface without breaking the plain. That is of course if it is not forced to break the plain with the wrong stick input. [:@]
