RE: TOC Aviation Fun Scale YAK Pro
Yeah,
I flew it 12 times and creamed it in.
I took pictures , but I am too disgusted to post them .
It flew very well, awesome elevator control wit he throw maxxed out and dremeled for the max.
Waterfalls like 1 a second. Very fast. High alpha KE slow, ,,,at a walking pace. KE loops are no brainer. Slow harrier entry into hover is awesome. Torque rolls easily. ALMOST an asecnding flat spin.
Lands like a trainer, no landing gear issues at all. YS1.10 is the ticket for unlimited performance...in the stock location.
I lost radio control, slowly, very strange..had it , then didn't...would roll one way very fast, but not the other..no roll. I had a about a minute and half of fighting it, telling the other flyer up at the time to move out.
I got it into the center of the field, try to get it down in a circle, when she snapped and headed nose in. Batteries checked out, receiver checked out R770 50mhz. The only thing I can think of was maybe, just maybe the wing rotated. I wasn;t close enough to tell , before it hit the ground.
Wings undamaged..anti rotation pins need replacing , thats it. Fuse ....motor square broke off cleanly. Ground was soft, so the Tru-turn wasn;t damaged...maybe the motor is OK. Fuse cracked in few places.
I stripped it, and have CA'd back straight, and am going to laminate 1/16 Cf plate on the side s of the fuse to re-attach the motor box. I would not do this if it did not fly awesome. It did.
THe landing gear wasn;t even bent. Nor was the pants damaged. Canopy cracked but CA'd up.
it wont be pretty , but it will fly again. It really impressed the other flyers at the field, me too.
If the fuse and tail feather were cheap enough I would buy another, but this s probably easier than building a new one.
I need a wing tube. thats it. I was planning on flying this all weekend, but , oh well.
Different receiver and batteries next time, just for peace of mind. And....longer anti rotation pins...safety pinned to the fuse.
