RE: Rogue 3D Bipe
Flight Report.............well, got a flight on the Rogue today, albeit in a lot of wind and here is my take as setup with the Hacker A30-16M, X30, TP2100 and 11x5.5E APC prop. CG at 3.7" back from top wing leading edge. AUW28.5oz:
1) Ailerons are deceptively effective. They look small but have incredible authority.
2) Extremely fast and precise flight at full power with unlimited vertical
3) Very axial rolls
4) Monster rudder effectiveness...knife edge loops left and right only take a little over 1/4 stick on the backside
5) Harrier is slow and rock solid...it really felt stable
5.5) Rolling harriers don't require banging of the rudder/elevator to the stops to maintain attitude.
6) Quite a bit of adverse roll coupling and push towards gear in knife edge. Mixed out on the JRPCM10X. There was more coupling than I expected.
7) Hover at a little below 1/2 stick
8) Deep blender break. Mine broke at about an altitude of -1/4" into soft grass. Amazingly, only cracked the cowling and loosed the top wing cabane mount. All easily repairable. I had the majority of the energy disappointed hence little damage, but I wasn't expecting extra altitude loss compared to the Mini-Extra. In any event, its ready for the next flights as soon as the Monsoons in NorCal cease. I'm off to Vegas for some weekend fun, so won't get more stick time until next week.
This is going to be a ton of fun to fly!
