Soak a perry carb in a jar of gasoline and watch what happens. You end up with a jar full of black gasoline and a lot of little metal parts.

You don't know what you are talking about, I have cleaned them with acetone with no problems. There are many plastics not phased by gasoline, nylon, epoxy, polyurethane. This is not made of cheap plastics which will disolve in gasoline. Even some automobile carbs had plastic floats with no issues.

I think it is possible than several carb body materials were used during Perry's production runs. I have heard others say the same thing about Perry carbs melting in gasoline.

I wouldn't tell someone that they don't know what they are talking about. That is rude, my friend. We are all friends here - or should be.
