What happened to the comparison videos?

I found this thread by accident while researching something else. I think I see how this system works... somebody else mentioned the Sneaky Pete, and that seems to be exactly what is going on here. C2 mentioned that the NO2 doesn't go directly into the engine, but sprays just before the air filter. If that's the case, then the real benefit of using this system would come from the supercooling of the air when the liquid NO2 atomizes as opposed to introducing any new oxygen into the engine. In theory it should work, HOWEVER...

I too am skeptical about it's benefits on an engine. Since no additional fuel is being introduced (although some have suggested that the combustion resulting from the nitrous creates additional exhaust pressure which would richen the mixture... but without measuring with a pressure guage, who knows), and since most drivers who know what they are doing usually try to tune the mixture as close to the edge as possible, a cool, dense charge is going to cause the engine to run excessively lean. At the very least I would expect it to go through glow plugs pretty fast and have problems with stalling. Worse case scenario is what happened to my Thunder Tiger .70 BX... I've told the story before, but one of the exhaust bolts came loose, and caused the engine to lean out and start detonating, taking chunks of the piston out. I will say this though, it ran like a bat out of hell just before it died.

It would seem to me that for the cost of one of these kits, it would be better to either upgrade to a better engine, or if already have a good one, ship it out to a place like RB Concepts or TNT Mods and have them do a professional porting job. Cost is about the same, the additional power is there 100% of the time, and the engine should be more reliable as well. However, that's my opinion... that and two bits will get you a cup of coffee
