RE: Needle Settings for OS .60 FSR with Perry Pump & Carb
Oops, I guess Clarence Lee doesn't know what he's talking about either. Check out his book, "The R/C Engine Vol II". Many questions about the Perry carb and one deals exactly with the subject of putting one in Gasoline. He answers a question about one that disolved in gasoline with this statement. "Read the instruction that accompanied the carburetor, Ernie. They specifically say, DO NOT SOAK in ANY SOLVENT." Weird , huh? So many guys that are experts on the subject don't know what they are talking about. Oh well. We try.
Now for all you guys that want to know how to adjust a Perry carb, Lee's book has 5 pages dedicated to using, adjusting and troublshooting all the Perry carbs. Rather that listening to the million different answers here, I recommend you get this book. Has tons of other useful info too. There are many great books available on just about any subject concerning model engines. Lee has several. Peter Chinn has a couple, Dave Gierke has a very good one. And let's not forget harry higley.
