well I race the truck as well as yard bash. But I dont understand how adding a higher gear will take from the low end. Unless what your saying is that it will take more HP to start truck because of tranny having to turn more gears ( reverse gear and 3rd speed gear). Is this what your trying to say.
That is exactly it, more rotating mass that the engine has to turn, but the extra gear will add more top end, but you won't likely hit 3rd on the track.
