Default RE: Servos for genesis or nemesis

i ve got 3 Maxxes, EVERYONE OF the 2055 steering servos wear out or just quit not to long into the run life. Y cuz they are cheap and weak... ANY Monster Truck SHOULD be equiped with a QUALITY servo, but then the price for the trucks would go up 100.00. so *** for tat...

personally i pull the steering servos out of my new trucks as soon as i can get a GOOD Quality servo.. my all aluminum TMaxx has a JR Z9000 UT... this thing will trun the wheels full radius, IN THE MUD.. as long as its not overtop the whole tire.....

my new CT5 still has stock servos, but the car is barely broke in...so i ve yet to experience the servo under duress..

a steering servo with high quality gears will work great, the biggest problem i see with steering servos, besides being in an area which can be easy to hit them, is when your running the trucks over anything about 1/4 throattle, the inertial of the spinning wheels pushes back against a truning servo, and will actually straiten out your turn against the force fo the servo and wear the internal gears quickly.... a full metal gear/ high quality High or Ultra Torque servo has enough balls in it to HOLD the tire in any turn position, and will not allow the inertia of the spinning tires to push against the servo causeing premature wear, just from driving and turning...

not to mention the improved steering response, a tighter turn radius if properly set up. and enough power to hole the wheels at 1/2 turn radius with a WOT..
thats what is all about....
