Default RE: Jet Central Flea??

ORIGINAL: Robrow

With all due respect and speaking personally I think it is unfair to both companies comparing these 2 engines,....2 completely different size/thrust classes.

Both companies have worked extremely hard at creating their own distinctive brands and both engines have/will have their own place in the market.

Rob.
The comparison wasn't meant to be 'this one is better than this one'. It was to show usable applications between the 2. The flea could be used to keep a jet very light with the low fuel consumption and the lighter weight of the turbine but has less thrust. It also has a slightly smaller diameter which could fit a little easier in some jets. The wren is a proven design, weighs just a little more, uses a little more fuel which translates to a little heavier airframe but puts out more power so you could also go with a little larger jet... The price could be a major factor in determining which way to go...

Turbines develop a majority of their power/thrust in the last, lets say, 1/4 of the throttle range. I'm not sure if the fuel consumption is exactly porportionate to that. The wren could probably be rpm limited easily enough to only put out the 6lbs though...
