might work, but probably not a good idea, because the elevator loads could easily distort the pushrod. And I always cringe when guys start talking about single servos on control surfaces. heavier spinner, carbon (not wood) prop, muffler, maybe even sub C nicad packs mounted forward, but don't give up redundancy or control authority. i've seen this plane in the flesh, and yes, one could move the engine a little further forward without creating an unsightly spinner gap.
