Default RE: satio 120 prop??

ORIGINAL: taildragger21

Hey guys I test flew my new dave patrick ultimate with a new satio 120 today.. I am running a 16x8 apc prop and the engine seems to really struggle and not get near full rpm. Mind me the engine is new, but do you think a 15x6-or 8 would be more of what I need to achieve full rpm after break-in. forward flight and verticle suffered badly with this 16x8. Seems like too much prop and its loading it up.. I tryed to lean the hi end needle but before I got more rpm, the engine would starve. would be ok on a 1/4 scale cub I guess, but this is a performance airplane.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It sounds as though your engine isn't broken-in as yet. Give it some time. Go fly and laze about for a weekend or two. Get that sucker airborne every chance you get. You paid a lot of money to buy an engine with superior metals. It is going to take a while for this superior metal to wear in correctly. Be patient and enjoy yourself. <G>
