How many battery packs did you go thru before you learned to hover?? I'm just curious. I just ran out my 8th pack a little bit ago. I only have a roughly 7ft by 7ft space to fly in the living room(no basement or garage). So far I can manage to hover 1-3 seconds before drifting off and having to set down. With tail in I can pretty much hold it in one place, just keep applying throttle till its pretty much stays in one place, then lifts off. Have not had to replace anything except the blade grips, the rotor blades are starting to show a lil wear tho. Anyway I was curious about the battery packs.

I hope you don't think i'm full of BS but I flew the hell out of my BCP right out of the box having never flown a (real) heli before. I have a few years experience with RC planes but I chalk this up to hours and hours using realflight G2 and G3. I've wanted a heli for years but had to focu$ on my love for airplanes. At first I spent 90% of the sim time flying planes but once I got into the helicopters I was hooked. Much more challenging than airplanes but also a lot more work with the fingers. Almost stressful. A good stress, but I still look forward to flying airplanes so I can relax a little.
I have crashed my BCP a couple times though. Once from glitchy yo-yo effect and another time because I got a little carried away and completely lost focus which way the bird was flying. I choked. DOH! Humbling but it was a good lesson for only $50 or so in repairs.
If you have a decent computer and enjoy flying, I HIGHLY recommend G3. Not just for practice but also because it's a lot of fun.
