Default RE: Skymaster BAe Hawk Fuel system

ORIGINAL: David Gladwin

I put on another three flights on the Hawk yesterday, testing the kero start conversion on the JetCat 160 derated by 5k rpm, the start system works faultlessly but does use a lot of battery capacity , 550ma per flight.

On the 3rd flight the canopy separated, so heads up to everyone to carefully check the canopy latch hole for wear. The canopy is lost in a swamp but the only airframe damage was a couple of cuts in the top surface of the wing.

I landed the model with almost full fuel and with an aft C of G due to the loss of the canopy and the two MGA pilots. Handling was no problem at all.

The more I fly this model the more I like it, it handles beautifully and is the most realistic sounding model jet I have ever heard, a comment I heard from several observers yesterday.

Fuel system is working fine !

Regards,

David Gladwin.
David,

You say fuel system working fine, without going back on the thread what system are you using as I am still hesitant about using the stock set up with the pickup at the top of the tank?
