Dar, I believe you're mistaken the scimitar's hub is thinner (APC is thicker) and the root? of the blades also is thinner than the APC which makes it easier to fit in standard spinner openings. APC's require more extensive changes of the spinner to fit

Looking at one specific size, the 12x8, it was not possible to properly tighten the prop nut with the MA Scimitar and a spinner, due to insufficient thread engagement, on an MVVS .77 engine.
On the APC, it was a piece of cake.
Maybe you are right about other sizes, however.
I have no doubt as to the modifications needed by the spinner cone, for the APC to fit.
