the sphere won't be powerful enough to move the an 1/8th scale buggy around. You can find an emaxx motor plate on speedmart.com for cheaper since the one you linked is an emaxx motor plate but it is the heatsink version which might give you some trouble while drilling the mounting holes. For pinions you have to use mod 1 pinions I think (you can get them here: www.rcmonster.com )
