You have the right stuff there. The 540C 9L is great for this application. Those are the right pinions and the Mtronks Truck is a good ESC. The only way to know for sure about your radio is to try it. Usually, you need a good quality system to avoid any glitching. I'd recommend Spektrum if you can afford a new system. That leaves batteries. You should get good matched 6-cell packs, or even better, LiPo's.
